Think about it.

You're sailing away and taking in the breeze.

The wind suddenly ceases.

Your only source of propulsion has stopped.

How do you behave?

You could paddle, sure, but that would be exhausting.

You wouldn't be stranded if you had a motor or a second sail, would you? Your revenue follows the same rule.

I follow the same rule as the military, and that is “redundancy”.

Learn it, remember it, memorize it, put a sticky note on your forehead if you have to with the word “redundancy” written on it.

Do you have a flashlight on you? The light on your phone? That’s great.

What if you no longer have a charge?

Then you’re out of luck.

I have four flashlights.

One on my phone. One on my keychain. One inside my pocket, and one in my bag.

Redundancy, my friend.

Think of your one job as your single sail.

What happens if the wind changes or the job disappears?

You are unable to move and are stuck.

That’s a crappy situation to be in. I know that personally; take my word for it.

Let's now visualize your revenue as a vessel with multiple sails, or even better, a vessel with a motor; you also have a paddle.

You are not solely dependent on one source of employment, one source of income, or one wind current.

Do you get my analogy? I hope you do.

Consider the most recent worldwide pandemic.

When the wind abruptly died down, many folks were sailing easily with their lone reliable sail, their employment.

They had been abandoned.

Especially now when there are so many layoffs in the US that people are struggling just to make ends meet.

Many people wished they had an additional sail or motor, or perhaps an additional source of money.

What makes this significant to you?

Financial security and stability are like the hardy hull of your boat.

One gust of wind can throw you adrift if you rely on one money source.

You will be sailing on the other side of the earth, and you are powerless to do anything.

On the flip side, having numerous sources of income is like having an extra sail or dependable engine.

You don’t have to see your life slip away while your boat takes you somewhere you have no intention of going.

Diversifying your income increases your chances of success and financial security.

Creativity flourishes when you don't depend on one profession.

When you diversify your income, the possibilities are endless.

Never forget that life is unpredictable.

Having a job is not a given. And it is NOT secured.

No matter how many times your parents, teachers, professors, and doctors, tell you that having ONE JOB is secure, critically think for yourself and come to the conclusion that it is not secured whatsoever.

If your only source of income goes, you could find yourself in a vulnerable situation.

I mean let’s face it, even engine problems with your car while having only one source of income takes in a wild ride of panic and anxiety.

A safety net, an extra cushion just in case, is provided by having various streams of revenue, like a boat with multiple sails or a motor.

Don't act like a sail-less boat.

Arm yourself with a motor or numerous sails. Diversify your income for financial security.

When your many revenue streams are flowing, you'll wonder how you ever survived with just one.

If you just have the one source of income, pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself.

It really is not easy, the word “easy” being an understatement of the century, and it’s a surprise that we have survived this far living off of one income.

Being flexible and adaptable is essential for surviving and succeeding in this ever-changing environment.

Put more than one source of income on your financial boat to sail into a safe and prosperous future.
